This is a post to share some insights and experiences about my trip to various surf spots in Asia.

Ofcourse we all know that Hawaii will always be the best place to surf but there are other untapped places that can actually serve as a good training ground for surfing. On the top of my list will be La Union in the South-East Asian country of the Philippines.

Aside from the beautiful scenery and beaches, the island nation is also home to some of the most killer waves and the wipeouts. I've read several blogs and by fellow American and European surfers regrading the impact of this place has on a surfer and I must admit, it is really beautiful. At the behest of my friend, who also works as a custom essays writer, we ended up packing our stuff and catching the first flight from New York to Thailand and then to Manila. (We had to stop by Thailand first because my friend also had to visit his relatives there and bring some stuff over. Let me tell you the plane ride was an adventure in itself. There was turbulence and a few air pockets.

And the funny thing is, I may never get seasick but the first time the plane rocked so bad, I wanted to go to the bathroom badly, but then I was unable to because the seatbelts light were still on. Which made me swear to never ride economy class again.

Another great thing about these little surf havens in Asia is that the board rentals are cheap. Compared to U.S. or to Hawaii, you could practically buy two or three boards for the price of one board in the States. Which was all the more fun.
